New Meal Monday: French 75

For many years my father-in-law would tell us stories in which he would speak fondly of evenings spent enjoying a cocktail called a "French 75".  The first time I heard of this drink, I had a vision of it being a pretty dangerous concoction that was likely enjoyed in a plastic cup.  Perhaps, within the context of the stories I was hearing this was accurate; however, upon further review, it turns out this is drink is actual quite elegant! Packing a little more than just champagne, this tasty drink is a fun way to ring in 2019!

What you'll need:

  • Champagne
  • Gin
  • Simple Syrup
  • Lemon

How you'll do it:

  1. Measurements for serving: Combine 2oz Champagne, 1oz Gin, 1/2oz fresh lemon juice and a dash of simple syrup in a glass.  Use twist from lemon to garnish. Enjoy!
  2. Alternatively, you could increase quantities for a larger serving and combine gin, lemon juice and simple syrup in a bowl. Stir in champagne just before serving and top with orange wheels and serve as a punch!
