New Meal Monday: Smoked-Maple Salmon

Over the last few years we've been adding to our selection of Vermont made food products.  There's so many delicious products out there, and we've been lucky enough to try a lot of them.  One of the latest staff favorites is a smoked maple syrup.  It is exactly as it sounds: sweet maple syrup that's infused with a wood-smoked flavor.  The combination of sweetness and smokiness provides delicious flavor profile, that can be used in a variety of ways to add flavor to foods, or cocktails!  We recently used it as a marinade for salmon, and the results were so tasty!  We chose to grill the salmon, but it could have just as easily been baked or broiled.  This marinade would also be good on grilled chicken!

What you'll need:

  • 2 Salmon Filets (1/2lb each)
  • 2 Tbsp Smoked Maple Syrup
  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

How you'll do it:

  1. Mix syrup, soy sauce, lime juice, garlic, salt & pepper in a shallow bowl. Toss salmon in until coated and marinade for about 20 min.
  2. Grill salmon over medium-high heat until cooked through (about 10 min).
  3. Enjoy!
