Ideas for At-Home Date Night!

First, we feel like it’s important to start here:
Valentine’s Day can be big for the restaurant industry, so if you’re someone who usually goes out to eat for Valentine’s Day (or even if you're not)….we’d encourage you to find a way to support your favorite restaurants this weekend. Whether it's going out (if you feel safe), getting take-out, or buying a gift card, our friends in the restaurant industry still really need our support.

Now, if you’re someone who usually stays in on Valentine’s Day, or are looking for some creative “date night ideas” for this winter, we’ve got you covered!
One idea we love for date night is homemade pizza! It’s not your traditional candle-lit dinner type of date, but it's the interactive nature of it that makes it fun! It’s easy, delicious, and allows a lot of room for creativity. Make some traditional pies, or something a little different like this chicken pesto pizza. If this type of date night sounds right for you, the Emile Henry Pizza Gift set may be a good gift!

Another fun date-night idea is fondue (yes, we do like cheese, why do you ask?). A cast iron fondue pot allows you to heat it up on the stove and keep it warm over a flame. Dunk anything your heart desires in delicious fondue cheese! Not into cheese fondue? How about a little chocolate fondue pot for desert?

Looking for a sit down candle-lit date night dinner recipe that invokes the feeling of one of your favorite restaurants? Try seeing if you can recreate your favorite dish. That’s how we came to make some of our favorite recipes. If we’re thinking of our favorite Italian restaurants we may make our eggplant meatballs, or our skillet eggplant parm.

If we’re thinking of our favorite seafood dishes, we may make Grilled Swordfish & Arugula Salad or our  Smoked-Maple Salmon.
For a good steak dinner, we’d make our Filet Mignon with Pesto Butter!

However you celebrate Valentine’s Day this year, try and remember what lays at the essence of the day. It’s not about chocolate, greeting cards, or even about having a significant other. It’s about making sure the people you care about, know you care.  That’s something we could all probably use this year.
