Vermont Inspired Recipes for Fall

Autumn is approaching, and this particular turn of season is a pretty special and spectacular time here in Vermont. Vibrant foliage provides the perfect backdrop for bustling apple orchards, corn mazes, and pumpkin patches. In honor of Fall, we thought we’d assemble a few of our favorite

recipes that feature popular fall ingredients! So head out to pick those apples & pumpkins and give some of these recipes a try! And of course...we have to include some recipes featuring Vermont Maple Syrup...

If you’re looking to add a fall twist to a breakfast classic these Apple Pancakes are a treat! If you’re looking for a more unique breakfast option, we love this Apple Popover Pancake. Obviously, either should be topped with maple syrup! If you could use a compact griddle for your pancakes, this one from Le Creuset is on sale this Fall!
Looking for something you could enjoy for breakfast or dessert? We like this Apple Zucchini Loaf from our friends at Nordic Ware (who conveniently have a set of 2 Loaf Pans for the price of one on sale for a limited time!).
Another great option is using apple cider as a glaze to add flavor like in this recipe for Cider Pork Tenderloin.

A fall classic, of course, is the Apple Pie, but we think the best recipe we could offer would be from one of our most popular books Vintage Pies from VT author Anne Haynie Collins. If you are planning to make any apple treats, Mrs, Anderson’s Apple Machine may come in handy! And our favorite Pie Dishes from Emile Henry are on sale this month as well!!

Pumpkin may be the Fall flavor people get most excited about. In fact, some people have taken to enjoying it as a year round flavor! We love this simple recipe for Pumpkin Donut Holes that can be easily made in a mini muffin tin. Enjoy those with some Pumpkin Spice Tea or this recipes for a Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte!

When it comes to traditional pumpkin pie, once again we’d recommend the recipe from Vintage Pies, but if you’re looking for something with a Vermont-y twist, this Maple Pumpkin Pie will do the trick!

While on the topic of maple, this recipe for Maple Roasted Butternut Squash is a delightful side for any fall meal. Fall also brings with it an assortment of soups and stews and this recipe for Maple Cornbread is an excellent companion for many of these types of dishes!

Hopefully, you’re as excited for the turn of the season as we are! And if you’re not, well, hopefully these recipes have helped provide enough inspiration to start to get you excited! Either way, keep on cooking!
